William Pagonis is taking over as COO of Pittsburgh, PA-based third-party logistics firm Genco

William Pagonis is taking over as COO of Pittsburgh, PA-based third-party logistics firm Genco. As COO, Pagonis will work directly with Genco’s chairman & CEO Herb Shear to increase operational and business performance.

The retired U.S. Army lieutenant general served as Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf's logistics commander during the first Gulf War. He also served as chairman of the Defense Business Board, which provides the Secretary of Defense with independent advice and recommendations on implementing best business practices. From November 1993 until April 2004, Pagonis served as executive vp and head of supply chain operations for Sears Roebuck and Co., as well as president of Sears Logistics Services.
