Goodyear names Bellissimo technology director

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has named Jon Bellissimo as director of technology for commercial tire systems. He had previously served as director of global technology for Goodyear Engineered Products since August 1, 2000.

Bellissimo’s experience in tire modeling and composite science will contribute to expediting new technologies in medium truck tires, the company said.

“We plan to lead in ‘smart’ truck tires that use computer chips to improve tire maintenance and increased miles to removal,” said Steve McClellan, Goodyear’s vp—commercial tire systems, North America region.

“Through Goodyear computer modeling, we are gaining product leadership in line haul and regional haul steer tire application, line haul drive and urban steer position,” McClellan added
