Ft. Collins, CO-based Rocky Mountain Tracking (RMT) is rolling out a GPS-based tracking system called RMT Rover that it says allows vehicle owners to access information about the position and status of their vehicles in real-time via the Internet.
“Logistics is a finely calculated trade today, and shippers need to constantly be aware of where their cargo and vehicles are,” said Brad Borst, RMT’s president. He said RMT Rover’s software allows the system to offer geofencing, optimal routing, and rapid vehicle tracking service all in one package.
Borst added that RMT has special expertise in moving information wirelessly -- across town or around the world -- using WiFi, cellular and satellite packet data services. The vehicle-tracking hardware, which weighs only 4.5 oz., provides accuracy of between 3 and16 feet. In addition to vehicle position, it can track excessive speed, idle time and lockdown violations.
“RMT Rover is the ideal tool for vehicle owners and shippers, allowing them to stay on top of their property at all points of time,” Borst noted. “The constant information flow will afford them a peace of mind.”
