Holmes to replace Mackenzie at UPS Freight

Jack Holmes, a 28-year United Parcel Service (UPS) veteran who has headed the operations of UPS Freight for the past year, has been promoted to president of the trucking unit to replace the retiring Gordon Mackenzie, who steps down Sept. 10.

Holmes, 47, headed the UPS transition team after the company acquired Overnite Transportation Co. in 200 – later renaming it UPS Freight. For the past year, he has served as the senior vp-operations at UPS Freight.
