ICX Transportation – a division of ICX Technologies, a homeland and military security IT provider – bagged a $1.57 million contract from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to expand I-15’s Reversible Lane Control System (RLCS). The agency now can use advanced control software to improve lane control systems, dynamic message signs and video control capability.

ICX said it would also handle the customization of roadway detection, closed-circuit television, electronic pop-up traffic control and roadway entry gates. “It shows that our dual use surveillance solutions, while ideal for homeland and military security applications, are also highly effective for managing [transportation] infrastructure needs,” said Hans Kobler, ICX CEO.
