Kentucky Trailers returns to family management

Gary Smith Sr. is the new president & CEO of specialty trailer maker Kentucky Trailer. William T. Tway II, great-grandson of company founder R.C. Tway, will take over as senior vp—sales.

The election of Smith, who is married to the company founder’s great granddaughter Anne Tway Smith, and Tway to their respective positions returns Kentucky Trailer to active family management. They assume their day-to-day responsibilities immediately.

Kentucky Trailer, founded in 1936 originally as the Kentucky Wagon Co., primarily manufactures custom moving trailers for customers that include Allied Van Lines, United Van Lines, and Wheaton World Wide Moving. Additional specialty customers include FedEx Ground, Frito-Lay and UPS.
