McDowell named new MFTA pres & CEO

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corp. has appointed Robert E. McDowell as president & CEO of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corp. has appointed Robert E. McDowell as president & CEO of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America (MFTA). McDowell is the first American-born president of MFTA, and will replace Isao Toda.

Isao Toda leaves MFTA to become president of China Mitsubishi Fuso in Japan.

McDowell joined MFTA in 1985 at its inception as regional sales manager charged with handling dealer development.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to be asked to serve as president of MFTA,” said McDowell. “We have an organization that I feel is truly second to none in our industry. The people we have are outstanding, and Mr. Toda has left us well positioned for dramatic growth.”
