Mitsubishi Fuso has announced its 2006 medium-duty models FE140, FE145 and FE180 will have a redesigned frame built to make body design and mounting easier. All Mitsubishi Fuso standard-cab FE 2006 model commercial trucks offer a 33.1 in-wide straight ladder-style frames.

The steel frame rails have a 21,200 psi yield strength, with an RBM per rail of 415,232 lb-in. The rear suspension on the FE145 and FE180 includes a stabilizer bar with shock absorbers to reduce frame twist and to improve truck handling and safety.

Frame cross members mount to the frame-rail webs to keep the top surfaces of the frame rails flat. Two 799 CCA batteries mount below the top of the frame, as well as the automatic transmission cooler. Wiring harnesses provide access to the rear of the frame and near the back of the cab. A 33-gallon side-mounted fuel tank is standard, but a 30-gallon in-frame tank is also available as a no-cost option.
