Moyes chooses exec vp for Swift

Jerry Moyes, founder and former chairman & CEO of Swift Transportation Co., announced that Ramino Peru will be the new executive vp & CFO at Swift, as well as a member of its board of directors. Peru will assume the position when Moyes’ acquisition of the company is complete.

Moyes added that he expects the Swift acquisition to close next week. According to the terms of the acquisition, Saint Corp., which will be renamed Swift Corp., will become the parent company of Swift, the holding company of Swift Transportation Co.

Peru had a 28-year career at Phelps Dodge Corp.
