BP oils meet detroit diesel spec

BP Lubricants Americas has announced its synthetic blend, Castrol Hypuron S, and Castrol Tection Extra meets the new Detroit Diesel Power Guard Oil specification.

The 93K214 specification is designed for use in Detroit Diesel model year 2002 and newer Series 50 and 60 and Mercedes Benz MBE 400 and NBE 900 engines. This spec is intended to extend drain intervals up to 50% in some engines, BP said.
