Fleet managers can plan reliable and efficient transportation routes around the hurricane-affected Gulf areas with updated roadwork and road closure information now available from Rand McNally.

RoadWork Alerts, a feature of Rand McNally’s IntelliRoute mapping software, can keep users informed about Gulf Coast roadblocks, allowing them to get around closed roads with alternate itineraries, said Robert Apatoff, the company’s president & CEO.

Apatoff said RoadWork Alerts are displayed on route itineraries, with details including the duration and type of construction for each location highlighted in orange text for Quickest and Lowest-Cost Routing options. Users can then click on the highlighted text to access alternate routes around affected areas, he said, noting that new and existing users of IntelliRoute can download the latest RoadWork Construction Update from the Internet at no cost.
