Rush Enterprises, Inc. has announced the acquisition of Peterbilt Carolina and Adams International Trucks, with a purchase price totaling approximately $40 million.

Peterbilt Carolina includes a Peterbilt, Hino and Isuzu heavy- and medium-duty truck dealership, while Adams International is an International heavy- and medium-duty truck and Workhorse custom chassis dealership, Rush said.

“This acquisition complements our strategy to diversify earnings by expanding our geographic footprint,” said W.M. “Rusty” Rush, president & CEO of Rush Enterprises, Inc. “It strengthens our contiguous network of distribution across the Southern United States by adding a significant presence in the North Carolina market.”

The dealership locations will operate as Rush Truck Center—Charlotte and Rush International Truck Center—Charlotte. Both centers will offer new and used truck sales, parts and service support, financing and insurance. Also included in the purchase were Adams Collision Center and an Idealease franchise.
