Schneider National Inc. has announced it’s working with office ergonomics company Atlas Ergonomics to implement in-cab improvements to benefit the health and safety of the carrier’s 12,000 truck drivers.

“Schneider places great emphasis on the safety and comfort of our drivers and the Atlas seating system ensures we maintain that focus,” said Don Osterberg, vp—safety. “Drivers in our pilot study reported being less fatigued and more comfortable in trucks equipped with the Atlas system, and that speaks volumes.”

In the study, driver discomfort dropped from 85% to 20%, with over 90% of drivers reporting improved fatigue levels and job satisfaction, said Atlas Ergonomics.

All trucks are slated for installation of the seat systems by mid-summer.
