TCA sets agenda for independent contractors meeting

The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) Independent Contractor Division meeting is scheduled for September 13-14, 2007 at the Renaissance Chicago O’Hare Suites in Chicago. This year’s agenda features industry leaders discussing a number of topics of critical interest, including:

  • Patrick Quinn, co-chairman of U.S. Xpress Enterprises, with an update on private toll roads and truck-only lanes;
  • Teresa Watson, lease purchase manager for O&S Trucking, Inc. and Steve Brinkman, director of C.R. England, Inc., on the pros and cons of lease purchase;
  • Daniel Barney, managing partner of Scopelitis, Light, Garvin and Hanson, PC, on owner-operator issues;
  • Robert Jones, former U.S. assistant secretary of labor, on the economy and your profitability.

In addition to the general session guest speakers, TCA executives will provide industry updates and there will be Trucking in the Round discussion sessions both days.
