Tech scholarships aimed at military

Indianapolis-based Lincoln College of Technology has announced it is partnering with the non-profit Hire A Hero program to award academic scholarships to members of the armed services. The scholarships can be used to pay for training in Automotive Technology, Electronics Systems Technology, or Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology at 37 Lincoln-affiliated schools in 17 states across the country.

Lincoln College’s parent company, Lincoln Educational Services, will award up to 122 scholarships to active and transitioning military personnel, veterans, National Guard members, reservists, spouses and their dependents.

The application process involves registering on the Hire a Hero website (www.hireahero.org) and uploading a written essay or short video. All applications are due on or before August 17, and winners selected by Hire A Hero will be announced by late August.

“Lincoln College of Technology is honored to be able to provide this small service as our way of saying thank you to the families of the outstanding men and women doing so much for our country by serving in the armed forces,” said Timothy Campagna, campus president.

Lincoln is offering two types of scholarships: Hire A Hero National Guard Scholarships, for which up to eight $10,000 scholarships are available, and up to 60 Hire A Hero Military Community Scholarships worth $2,000 each.
