The extended cab version of Isuzu’s mid-sized pickup will continue to be available as either the i-290 with a 185-hp. 4-cyl. engine or the i-370  with a 242-hp. 5-cyl. engine. A 4-sp. automatic transmission is standard with the larger engine and optional with the 4-cyl., which comes with a 5-sp. manual as standard. Also returning in 2008 is a crew cab version of the i-370 with the same powertrain.

Both i-370 models increase towing capacity in 2008 from 4,000 to 5,500 lb., while the i-270 receives just a 100-lb. increase to 3,200 lb. with the optional automatic transmission and 2,000 lbs. with the standard manual.

In addition to the side-airbag and traction control options, Isuzu says new options for its 2008 pickups will include an in-dash CD changer, and integrated trailer hitch and wiring harness.

Isuzu says it will continue offering a 7-yr./75,000-mi. powertrain limited warranty and 24-hr. roadside assistance coverage for its pickups, as well as its 2008 Ascender SUV.  Basic coverage for the Isuzu vehicles is 3-yr./50,000 mi.
