A new $180-million light truck and car tire plant/warehouse complex is open for business in White, GA, and will play an integral role in expanding Toyo Tire North America’s presence in the U.S. tire market, according to the division’s president, Shozo “Carlos” Kibata.

Toyo’s new Georgia complex totals just under one million square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space and has the capability of annually producing up to two million passenger car and light truck tires under the Toyo and Nitto brands. Future phases could potentially expand capacity to six million passenger car and light truck tires, Kibata said.

He added that tires are going to be manufactured using Toyo’s highly automated and proprietary tire production system, Advanced Tire Operation Module (ATOM). “This is the most technologically advanced manufacturing facility Toyo has built in its 60-year history,” Kibata said.
