ArvinMeritor’s North American trailer brake axle products requiring brake actuators will be using TSE Omnibrake brake chambers

ArvinMeritor’s North American trailer brake axle products requiring brake actuators will be using TSE Omnibrake brake chambers. TSE Brakes fulfilled its supplying agreement to ArvinMeritor’s Trailer Product plants on July 7, 2005.

“It’s significant because Meritor is so large and the unquestioned leader in axles,” Ted Smith, TSE chairman told Fleet Owner “The fact that we have this [deal] will mean a lot to people in the business and speaks highly of the quality of our product.”

The actuators meet the rigorous test standards required by ArvinMeritor to be a “production standard” product, said Smith.

“First in our mind is supporting a first-class product change-over for ArvinMeritor and for its customers,” Smith said. “After that, we’ll work hard to uphold the standards for quality and service that has been set before us by this premier heavy-duty manufacturer.”

TSE Brakes, through Meritor, has available the new TSE High Output spring brake actuator system. It works similarly to the Omnibrake standard air chamber system, but has a smaller dimension profile than traditional air brake actuators.

The North American actuator deal significantly expands TSE’s relationship with ArvinMeritor, Smith said. TSE is maintaining its earlier agreement with the axle manufacturer in Europe as a supplier of cam and disc products.
