Love’s Travel Stops has opened the first of 10 fast-fill compressed natural gas (CNG) stations as part of the company’s plans to expand its CNG fueling locations. The station, in Willis, Texas, is located on Interstate 45 at Exit 95.
“Willis is in a location that’s heavily traveled by professional fleets and light-duty vehicles, so this location makes sense. It’s the first station completed in the Texas Triangle, designed to make travel between Houston, Dallas and San Antonio using CNG feasible. We will open several more Love’s Fast-Fill CNG locations in additional areas to complete the triangle, opening up a corridor between the three cities,” said Bill Cashmareck, general manager of natural gas at Love’s. “We’re excited to introduce this cost-effective option to Willis and the state of Texas.”
The station will host an event to celebrate the addition of CNG on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at 11 a.m., involving customers who are on the cutting edge of alternative fuels and excited to use the station, such as Dart Transit Company.
“Dart is leading the industry when it comes to alternative fuels,” said Jeff Resch, dedicated sales and operations manager for Dart. “Love’s heavy-duty CNG station in Willis is an ideal location for our dedicated business in Texas.”
Love’s CNG stations are designed to deliver a fill rate of greater than 10 gals. per minute in all lanes, meaning a driver can fill a 100 gal. equivalent tank in 10 minutes or less.
“We’ve made a promise to provide innovative solutions to our customers. Supplying them with the option to use Love’s Fast-Fill CNG is one way we’ve kept that promise,” said Cashmareck.
Love’s previously announced it would expand its Love’s fast-fill CNG network at 10 of its travel stops across Texas and Oklahoma, as well as its travel stop in Burbank, OH. Love’s will offer in-lane, fast-fill CNG at the following locations by the end of this year.
