NC Highway Patrol asking for help in fatal hit-and-run

The North Carolina Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help after a woman was found dead on the side of the road near Statesville, NC, in the early hours of Saturday, July 20.

Authorities estimate the fatal collision happened sometime between 3 a.m. and 5:45 a.m. near the intersection of Stamey Farm Road and US 70 in Iredell County.

Investigators believe the vehicle involved will have damage to the left headlight and left fender well.  There was little evidence from the vehicle left at the scene, according to a report by NBC News Charlotte.
