A new Chevin tool is designed to help fleets schedule jobs for mobile workers through their smartphone or other mobile device.Dispatch Fitter works with Chevin’s FleetWave Mobile software and enables managers to remotely create a work schedule for employees such as technicians and inspectors.Using the tool allows companies with remote workers to create faster and more accurate working practices, as well as enabling faster invoicing, explained Brendan Adams, marketing manager. He said: “Many of our fleets have field workers of one or more kinds and creating efficient and dynamic schedules for them is often an ongoing problem. Dispatch Fitter solves this problem neatly and cost-effectively. Managers can rapidly create timed task lists that workers can access and interact with through their Android or iOS smartphone or tablet. This is an important tool for FleetWave Mobile and one whose development has very much been driven by the requirements of our customers.”He added that Dispatch Fitter also worked well in call center and work booking environments, where it could be used to create schedules for mobile fitters: “This is one of those simple and effective tools that we are finding can be used in many different kinds of application.”FleetWave Mobile was launched in its HTML5 iteration in mid-2015 and works either as a standalone system or linked to Chevin’s FleetWave enterprise level fleet management system, the company said.It is a mobile data collection and processing tool that can be adapted to the needs of individual organisations to gather fleet or other operational information using manual input, QR codes, bar codes or pictures. Adams said: “Our approach with the ongoing development of FleetWave Mobile has been to make the core product as flexible as possible so that it can be adapted to the exact needs of each customer. As a result, it has become a highly adaptable mobile data gathering tool that has a wide variety of fleet-specific applications but which is also ideal for organizations where the fleet is simply a tool in the delivery of a product or service. Dispatch Fitter very much fits into this way of thinking and we have already seen a high level of interest from fleets.”
