OnTerra to sell HERE tracking, route optimization platform

May 28, 2014

OnTerra Systems is now an authorized reseller of the HERE Platform for Business, an enterprise-level mapping data technology platform for mobile asset.

“HERE provides some of the best mapping data, and mapping capabilities on the market today,” said Steve Milroy, OnTerra Systems president and founder. “OnTerra Systems is all about developing efficient, quality solutions for fleet management and route optimization. With our years of experience deploying and selling web mapping solutions, particularly for fleet tracking and route optimization, it was a perfect fit for us to become a HERE Platform reseller.”

The HERE Platform also can be used in conjunction with RouteSavvy, OnTerra Systems’ route optimization products. The HERE Platform, in combination with RouteSavvy, offers valuable new tools to increase fleet productivity, reduce fleet operating costs, minimize a fleet’s environmental impact, and improve the tracking and regulatory compliance for large vehicle and truck fleets, OnTerra said.

“HERE is distinguished for its collection and mapping of many transport-related road attributes such as speed limits, tolls, physical and HazMat restrictions for commercial vehicles, and historic, real-time, and predictive traffic information,” said Milroy.

The HERE Platform comes in a variety of prices points, depending on the level of mapping information that’s needed.  For example, Tier One provides just for vehicle or mobile asset tracking. Tier Two provides data for mobile asset tracking plus basic vehicle routing information. Tier Three includes vehicle tracking, basic and advanced routing information, and detailed compliance information for commercial truck routing such as which roads allow the transport of hazardous materials, physical restrictions such as bridge heights, and predictive traffic information.
