Telogis unveils a suite of new products designed to improve productivity

June 5, 2013

Telogis has expanded its mobile suite of applications with the release of Telogis Navigation 4.5, WorkPlan 2.0 and Telogis Miles.

WorkPlan integrates seamlessly across the Telogis platform to provide customers with the needed functionality they require to more easily manage and engage with their mobile workforces, the company said.

Telogis has also introduced Telogis Vehicle-as-a-Hub and Telogis Coach, two solutions for the mobile worker that enable significant improvements in safety, vehicle usage and productivity. The solutions use an open hardware environment that supports the most popular mobile devices and mobile operating systems.

“Telogis understands the inherent need for our customers to have easier ways to have greater visibility into their mobile workforces,” said Mark Wallin, vice president, product management, Telogis. “Whether it’s the most accurate routes with Telogis Navigation, providing simple tools for compliance with Workplan, giving drivers a snapshot of their day with Telogis Coach or increased safety and productivity with Telogis Vehicle-as-a-Hub, our mobile suite of applications has everything an enterprise needs to run its mobile workforce all in one seamless, powerful platform.”

Telogis Navigation 4.5 supports the Android operating system and features a completely redesigned and greatly enhanced user interface (UI), making Telogis Navigation even easier to use. Navigation 4.5 also features improved map quality including embedded advanced map attributes relevant to commercial fleets.

Telogis WorkPlan 2.0 for iOS and Android puts the ability to manage work orders from the field and meet federal mandates for compliance in the workers’ hands. According to Telogis, WorkPlan cuts down on time spent preparing, planning and processing work orders. Mobile workers can also view all of their jobs as points on a map to easily visualize their days and routes, while back office teams can see the real-time location and job status of all of their workers in the field using the Telogis platform.

WorkPlan also incorporates hours of service (HOS) management features with HOS limit warnings. Workers can also automate and simplify the driver vehicle inspection report (DVIR) process to meet regulations through WorkPlan. With the addition of QR codes, drivers can run WorkPlan on their mobile devices and scan the codes in order to verify inspections have been completed.

Vehicle-as-a-Hub (VaaH) is a high-performance, enterprise-ready solution designed to consolidate mobile workers’ wireless communications into one device. VaaH turns vehicles into a connected, mobile hotspot and supports unique peripherals such as in-cab cameras to encourage safe driving and prevent accidents.

Telogis Coach is an app that closes the loop with mobile workers by delivering a snapshot of the day’s events to drivers’ mobile devices. Telogis Coach provides a quick look at daily driving records that can be easily accessed and reviewed to help drivers understand what behaviors and practices need improvement, and how the overall quality and safety of their driving habits fit into the goals of the organization. Telogis Coach includes personalized scorecards, leaderboards to compare against peers, violation listings and training videos to foster improvement. Telogis Coach is available on Android and iOS devices including smartphones and tablets.

Finally, Telogis has launched Telogis Miles, an extension of its comprehensive, cloud-based location intelligence platform. Telogis Miles works by generating real-time mileage that matches actual in-cab miles driven when used in conjunction with the Telogis platform. Telogis Miles gives fleets the ability to determine and manage against actual costs, and drive profitability based on the variances of miles driven.

“With Telogis Miles, transportation industry carriers now have the ability to derive the most precise mileage information in order to be able to increase profitability and efficiency in the supply chain,” said Newth Morris, co-founder and president, Telogis Route and Navigation. “Previously, customers relied on antiquated systems or rough estimates to apply to their plans for fueling, ratings and even their contracts. With Telogis Miles, they have the accuracy and visibility they need to determine real-time distances.”

Telogis Miles is specifically designed for back office planners and resources associated with all types of routing calculation. It automatically takes into consideration the configuration defined by the fleet, including routing preferences and road modifiers, and leverages the full flexibility of the Telogis platform in managing the entire routing experience – from the first mile, last mile and everything in between.
