Customers looking for shipping charges before the actual shipping process begins now have an option with Transite Technology’s Rapid Rate Client. The desktop less-than-truckload, truckload and package transportation -costing application offers a cost-effective way to identify true shipping charges quickly and accurately, Transite said.

“The market is full of customers who simply want their actual cost options-- and nothing more--so they can make a quick and informed decision based on their own cost and service standards,” said Geoff Comrie, CEO. “These customers have done a good job in negotiating their carrier agreements but do not have the business case to justify the expense or complication of an integrated transportation management system.”

The solution is ideal for customers who simply want to know how much shipping will cost, said Transite. The company explained that Rapid Rate Client combines Transite’s web-hosted contract management system with a user-friendly interface to provide customers with real-time least-cost carrier prices. The system uses pre-loaded rate bases, negotiated carrier agreements, transit times and fuel indexes to generate the information. Clients simply send a shipping request to receive a quote, noted Transite.
