Lightweight brake drum from Webb

The Aftermarket Business Unit of Webb Wheel Products has released the new lightweight Vortex brake drum for aftermarket replacement needs, the company said.

The Aftermarket Business Unit of Webb Wheel Products has released the new lightweight Vortex brake drum for aftermarket replacement needs, the company said.

According to Webb, the 100 lb. drum is made from gray iron metallurgy, and features a reinforcing center band and ribs. The metallurgy weighs less without comprising structural integrity, reliability and braking capabilities, Webb said.

FMVSS 121 test results show the Vortex runs 75° to 175° cooler than competitive drums, the company said.
