Denso N.A. gets new president & CEO

Yoshiki “Steve” Sekiguchi has been named president & CEO of Denso International America (DIAM), the Japanese company’s North American arm.  He replaces Haruya “Harry” Maruyama, who will return to Japan to head the Global Sales and Business Development, Toyota Sales, and Chubu Sales departments, as well as the Hiroshima Branch Office. 

As president & CEO of DIAM, Sekiguchi also will serve as chair of the Board of Directors for the North American Denso Group and remains a managing officer of Denso Corp.

Sekiguchi has been serving as gm of the parent company’s Sales and Planning Dept. since 2007, where he was responsible for product planning, international business planning and marketing. He began his career at Denso in 1978 In Thailand where he was responsible for aftermarket sales. In 1984, he was transferred to Denso Sales California to develop OEM and aftermarket sales in North America. After returning to Japan in 1990, Sekiguchi served in various sales positions, including the Toyota Sales Dept. and the Sales Planning Dept.
