The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) reports that the market for fleet vehicles fueled by propane autogas is gaining momentum. PERC pointed out that industry leaders like Alliance AutoGas, Blue Bird Corp., CleanFuel USA, Collins Bus Corp., Impco/BRC, and Roush CleanTech have increased the availability of high-performance vehicles fueled by propane autogas, “helping fleet managers achieve sustainability goals.”

Ten new on-road vehicle platforms fueled by propane autogas have been developed in the past 20 months by the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) and its manufacturing partners. One of these vehicles, a 2011 Ford E-350 cargo van, equipped with a Roush CleanTech liquid propane autogas fuel system that was partially funded by PERC, will be on display in the Propane Pavilion at the NTEA Work Truck Show next week in Indianapolis.

Also on display will be an CleanFuel USA propane autogas refueling dispenser system outfitted with a 500-gallon tank mounted on a portable platform—one of several propane autogas refueling options. Fleet managers also can experience the performance and handling of a Ford E-450 dual rear wheel cutaway box van fueled by propane autogas during the ride-and-drive event.

PERC’s booth (number 5085) will be in the Propane Pavilion at the 2011 National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Work Truck Show being held next week at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

Exhibit hours are: March 8, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; March 9, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and March 10, 9 a.m.to 12 p.m. Ride-and-drive hours are: March 8, 12 to 4:30 p.m. and March 9, 12 to 4:30 p.m.
