Fleet Owner and WIX Filters officially presented Gordon Trucking, Inc. with the annual Green Fleet of the Year award this week at their corporate offices in Pacific, WA. Steve Gordon, COO, Kirk Altrichter, vice president of maintenance, and Bob Peterson, vice president of operations northwest were on hand to accept the award. Jim Aked, district sales manager for WIX Filters, which sponsors the award, made the presentation.
Gordon received top honors in recognition of its understanding of the relationship between efficiency and sustainability, its participation in EPA’s SmartWay partnership, its willingness to try new fuel-efficient solutions and share the results and its leadership by example. The fleet was selected from among the 12 fleets named Green Fleet of the Month by Fleet Owner in 2010.
“This recognition means a lot to our customers who are committed to sustainability,” said Peterson. “We are honored to receive it.”
Gordon, which operates in the Lower 48 states as well as Canada, has about 1,700 trucks.
