For the first time in over three months, average U.S. diesel prices have increased.
For the first time in over three months, average U.S. diesel prices have increased. This week, prices are up 2 cents to $2.534, according to the most recent data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA). This week’s price is $1.280 per gallon less compared to the same week last year. Diesel prices increased in every region – with the exception of New England, which was down a cent to $2.663 compared to last week’s $2.673. Even with the rising prices, all regions remain under the $3-per-gallon mark. Unlike diesel, average U.S. retail pump prices for gasoline dropped 7.3 cents to $2.437, according to EIA. That is nearly $1.02-per-gallon less than the same week last year, EIA reports. Overall, gas prices are down across the board, and, similar to last week, the only region to see prices above the $3-per-gallon mark is the West Coast at $3.091.
