Both companies share the Green Deal vision of sustainable transport and a carbon neutral Europe by 2050.
On March 2, Daimler Truck and Volvo Group completed the transaction on their joint fuel-cell company, Cellcentric, aiming to provide fuel-cell-powered CO2 neutral transportation to the trucking industry. Together, both companies plan to digitally launch the company via webcast on April 29.
Volvo Group President and CEO Martin Lundstedt will join Martin Daum, chairman of the board of management at Daimler Truck AG and member of the board of management Daimler AG for the first time since the initial partnership announcement in April 2020.
Together, Lundstedt and Daum will outline the aims and ambitions of the 50:50 joint initiative and will elaborate on the necessary deployment of truck-suitable hydrogen fueling infrastructure and a policy framework that makes zero-emission technologies the best option for truck customers.
Daimler Truck AG and Volvo Group share the Green Deal vision of sustainable transport and a carbon-neutral Europe by 2050. With cellcentric, they intend to help meet those goals through the development, production and commercialization of fuel-cell systems for both long-haul trucking and other applications.
