Leece-Neville adds new MD and HD starters

Prestolite Electric’s Leece-Neville M93 and M97 24V starters provide coverage for medium- and heavy-duty applications, off-highway vehicles and buses.

Prestolite Electric, a manufacturer and supplier of alternators and starter motors for OE and aftermarket, expanded its portfolio of starters with the Leece-Neville M93 and M97 24V 6kW.

The new starters are designed to provide power for a variety of medium-duty and heavy-duty applications, as well as off-highway vehicles and buses. These in-line, gear-reduction starters are being used on Cummins and other popular models.

“We are pleased to expand our 24V starter lineup and provide our customers with an increasing number of starter options,” said Jonathan Smith, assistant director of sales and marketing for Prestolite. “The M93 and M97 each deliver a combination of premium performance and exceptional value that helps increase vehicle uptime and improve ROI for our customers.”

  • 10 and 12 tooth models
  • Clockwise rotation
    • SAE J542 Type 1
      • Integral Magnetic Switch (IMS) helps eliminate voltage drop issues by minimizing wiring between the relay and solenoid
        • Electrical soft start helps eliminate ring gear damage
          • In-line, gear reduced for more power in a small package 
            • Case ground (M93)
              • All-new, no core
