ORLANDO. Yokohama debuted two new commercial truck tires, the 103ZRT and 501ZAT, here at the Technology & Maintenance Council’s (TMC) annual meeting. The tires are from the company’s Z.environment line, which the company claims last longer and are more fuel-efficient than conventional tires.
"The 103ZR offers a compound, tread design and casing construction that delivers longer tread wear and low rolling resistance," said John Cooney, Yokohama's director of commercial sales. "The casings innovations actually predict changes in tire shape that occur in early stages of wear. The result is increased durability due to stabilized performance over the wear of the tire."
The first tire in the Z.environment line, the 703ZLT, was debuted at last year’s TMC. According to the company, the 103ZRT also features rock-ejector platforms and a wider tread to promote even wear, while the 501ZAT contains a special compound that provides longer mileage and greater chip resistance.
