An all-makes aftermarket model of the 105P55 starter from Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America (MEAA) is now available for Navistar's medium-duty International I-6 family of engines

An all-makes aftermarket model of the 105P55 starter from Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America (MEAA) is now available for Navistar's medium-duty International I-6 family of engines, the company has announced. The product marks MEAA's first foray into the North American medium-duty market and is just the beginning of such offerings, according to David Stone, executive director, MEAA-Heavy Duty.

The starter is available for engine applications including the International DT466, DT530, DT570, HT570, Maxx Force DT, Maxx Force 9 and Maxx Force 10.

Designed to stand up to extreme use and tough environments, the starter eliminates the need to add a premature failure prevention device such as over crank protection, MEAA said. It is covered by MEAA's Diamond Gard warranty. Information on the starter and warranty can be found at MEAA's new aftermarket web site.

The site includes information on the Diamond Gard program along with assistance in the claims process. It includes claim forms, program policies, a part and dealer locator, as well as starter, alternator, integrated mag switch and solenoid installation guides, product literature and technical information.

Diamond Gard is a limited three-year warranty program covering any Mitsubishi Electric All Makes heavy-duty starter or alternator sold prior to Dec. 1, 2008, is three years old or less and fails under normal useage.

"The new wb site is a great way to learn about our Diamond Gard warranty program," said Doug DeJong, manager, North American HD aftermarket. "It's easy to navigate, provides clear instructions for filing claims and allows quick access to dealer locations."

MEAA also announced that Danny Ritter has been named to the new position of technical support manager for its heavy duty business unit. Ritter will offer technical and troubleshooting training at the dealer and regional levels along with general technical support for Mitsubishi Electric's charging and starting products, and field support for OE and aftermarket projects.
