Oct. 24, 2012

Two companies in Mexico have started deploying 140 Freightliner vehicles, Daimler Trucks Mexico announced.

UNNE Corporate, a logistics company for special transport of construction materials and crude oil derivatives, has ordered 50 Freightliner Cascadia trucks. Package delivery company Estafeta has order 90 Freightliner Business Class M2 models – 70 of which have already been delivered, Daimler Trucks said.

“Thanks to the flexible configuration possibilities of our vehicles, we can offer our partners individually tailored solutions for their specific transport operations,” said Gerhard Gross, president & CEO of Daimler Trucks Mexico.

Estafeta, which has been a Daimler Trucks Mexico customer for some time, will have its order fulfilled before the end of the year. Once delivered, nearly 80% of Estafeta’s fleet will be comprised of Daimler Trucks models.

“Our goal is to achieve high service quality for a broad spectrum of services. With the Freightliner truck we are sending a signal: We want to continuously improve our business and to have the latest safety and environment technologies on board with our trucks. Daimler Trucks Mexico is a guarantor of quality, design and innovation which enable us to process all our deliveries efficiently,” said Ingo Babrikowski, CEO of Estafeta.

UNNE’s 50 Cascadias, which have already been delivered, are being operated by TRACSA (Transportación Carretera S.A.), a company which belongs to UNNE Corporate.

“We want to react to market trends and customer requirements at an early stage. That is why we are working closely with companies like Daimler Trucks Mexico, which share our high quality standards,” said Noé Paredes, CEO of UNNE Corporate.

Daimler Trucks has two production plants in Mexico, in Santiago Tianguistenco (Federal State Estado de México) and Saltillo (Federal State Coahuila). The company also has an international replacement parts center and a sales center for used trucks along with a network of more than 90 sales and service outlets.
