Mitsubishi Fuso to offer used-truck warranty program

May 16, 2014

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America will offer a used-truck warranty option through authorized dealers. The Diamond Mark warranty features three coverage intervals and is good on any used Fuso truck up to 7 years old with less than 300,000 mi. on it at the time of purchase.

Coverage options include 3 months/10,000 mi.; 6 months/20,000 mi.; or 12 months, 30,000 mi. There are Gold and Platinum levels of coverage.

Both the Gold and Platinum levels cover 19 engine items, the transmission case and all internal parts (except Allison transmissions used in class 6/7 FK/FM models), as well as the rear axle and differential. Specifically, the engine coverage includes the block, cylinder head, oil pan, thermostat housing, flywheel, pistons, rings and virtually all other internal engine parts including the cylinder head bolts and head gasket. The Platinum level also covers fuel injectors and the turbocharger.

“Every new Fuso work truck comes with our industry-best 5-year/175,000-mi. powertrain warranty. But we recognize that not every Fuso owner purchases a new truck. So, together with National Truck Protection, we have developed the new Diamond Mark Used Truck Warranty to reinforce our commitment to help lower the cost-of-ownership for all owners of late-model Fuso trucks,” said Todd Bloom, president and CEO OF MFTA. “For those who purchase a pre-owned Fuso, the new Diamond Mark Used Truck Warranty program should give them peace-of-mind regarding repair costs, as well as the advantage of financial predictability as they focus on their business.”

Full details of the new Diamond Mark Used Truck Warranty program, including terms, conditions, and restrictions, are available from authorized Mitsubishi Fuso commercial truck dealers, or by visiting www.mitfuso.com/UsedTruckWarranty.
