Schneider is selling used Freightliner Columbia glider kit trucks. Over 100 units are immediately available and additional units will be added.

Schneider announced that it is selling used Freightliner Columbia glider kit trucks. Over 100 units are immediately available and additional units will be added to Schneider’s inventory throughout the year as the company takes delivery of new equipment.

The glider units offered by Schneider are 2011 and 2012 model year trucks including 72-inch, 70-inch, 58-inch and 40-inch sleeper condos and day cabs. View Schneider’s complete used truck and trailer inventory.

All Schneider gliders were assembled using a new Columbia Glider Kit (cab, radiator, frame and steering axle) and matching it with a donor truck’s engine, transmission, driveline, suspension and rear axles.  Each unit received a factory remanufactured engine; the remainder of the power train was inspected and repaired as required at the time of the build.

“All Schneider glider trucks have Detroit Diesel Series 60 Engines that are pre-EGR, DPF and SCR emission technologies,” notes Rob Reich, senior vice president at Schneider. “Trucks with these specs typically have lower maintenance costs because of the availability of lower cost parts and mechanics who are familiar with the engine technology. The units are also lower weight, deliver good MPG, require no DEF cost and are a good value for those in the used truck market.”

The current inventory of glider units is available at 12 Schneider locations across the United States: Atlanta; Charlotte, NC.; Columbus, OH; Dallas; Fontana,CA; Gary, IN; Harrisburg,PA; Houston; Indianapolis; Portland,OR; St. Louis and West Memphis, AK.
