Advantage Truck Center recently opened a new location in Greensboro, N.C., increasing Volvo Trucks sales and service capabilities in the Southeastern U.S. Located off Interstate 40, the new $7.5 million full-service dealership offers 20 service bays and $2 million in parts inventory, the company said. The 48,000 sq.-ft. facility opened Oct. 5. Previously, sales, parts and service and the leasing and rental operation were operating from different sites in Greensboro and Kernersville, N.C.“Advantage Truck Center’s state-of-the-art facility in Greensboro offers customers further options for sales, service and support,” said Göran Nyberg, president of Volvo Trucks North America. “Customers demand a truck and a dealer network that helps them improve their return on investment while maximizing uptime. The new Advantage Truck Center will do just that.”Dealer principal Terry Young said he selected the new site after looking at several locations near Greensboro. The chosen site was deemed the perfect location because of its elevation and high visibility from the interstate, the company added.“We needed a new facility that would properly take care of our customers and one that was in line with Volvo’s image,” Young said. “The new site offers a totally new environment for customers – one that is modern, inviting, efficient and well-illuminated, which also benefits our employees.”Young began Advantage Truck Center in 1995. Now, Young owns locations in Charlotte, Hickory, Durham, Rocky Mount and St. Pauls, as well as the Greensboro site. “We are pleased to be recognized as one of the largest privately owned companies in the state, and we have our 220 employees to thank for their dedication and service,” Young said. “Without them, we would not have achieved all that we have in the last 20 years.”
