NHTSA’s latest safety notices feature leaking fuel and brake lines, instrument panel failure, and more.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently issued recall notices for commercial vehicles, including brands from Chrysler, Autocar, and more.

Owners of the affected vehicles should be contacted via U.S. mail over the next two months, but fleet and independent owners of these vehicles can contact the NHTSA Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit nhtsa.gov for more details. More information on each recall can be found below.

Altec AT & TA models’ fuel and brake lines may leak

Altec Industries is recalling certain 2024 AT and TA series aerial devices and ST series spray bodies. The fuel or brake lines may not be properly secured, which can cause the lines to become damaged and leak. A brake fluid leak can cause brake failure, increasing the risk of a crash. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

This recall potentially affects 319 vehicles. Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the brake and fuel lines. If improperly secured, Altec will provide a kit to secure the lines. If the lines are damaged, dealers will repair the fuel and brake lines. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 25. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3181.

Autocar DC models’ misdirected exhaust can overheat CNG fuel tank

Autocar is recalling certain 2022-2024 DC (Legend) vehicles. The horizontal exhaust diffuser may be improperly positioned and vent exhaust toward the CNG fuel tank. Exhaust fumes can overheat the fuel tank, increasing the risk of a fire.

This recall potentially affects 80 vehicles. Dealers will inspect and reposition the exhaust diffuser as necessary. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 25. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 888-218-3611. Autocar's number for this recall is DC-2405.

Great Dane Everest SS models’ improperly welded trailer mounts

Great Dane Trailers is recalling certain 2025 Everest SS refrigerated trailers. The support gear bracing mounts may have been welded improperly. An improperly welded support gear bracing mount can lead to the trailer collapsing, increasing the risk of injury.

This recall potentially affects 453 vehicles. Dealers will inspect and repair the support gear bracing mount as necessary. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 22. Owners may contact Great Dane customer service at 877-369-3493.

Jeep models’ instrument panel failure

Chrysler is recalling certain 2020-2024 Jeep Gladiator and 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The instrument panel cluster may experience an internal short circuit and fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Controls and Displays." An instrument panel that fails to display critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, can increase the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 32,863 vehicles. Dealers will replace the instrument panel cluster. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 3. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is 30B.

Kentucky Trailer MV & PV models’ upper cargo area floor improperly secured

Kentucky Trailer Manufacturing is recalling certain 2022-2024 (KTB) MV and PV truck bodies. The upper cargo area floor may not be secured properly, which can allow the crossmembers to loosen and detach. Crossmembers that detach can fall off the truck body, increasing the risk of injury.

This recall potentially affects 1,439 vehicles. Dealers will secure the floor. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 11. Owners may contact KTM customer service at 502-637-2551.

Ram 1500 models’ disabled electronic stability control

Chrysler is recalling certain 2019, 2021-2024 Ram 1500 vehicles. Due to a software malfunction, the anti-lock brake system control module may disable the electronic stability control system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems." Driving with a disabled electronic stability control system can increase the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 1,227,808 vehicles. Dealers will update the ABS control module software. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 3. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is 85B.
