The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently issued recall notices for several heavy-duty and light-duty commercial vehicles along with other trucks.

Ram pickup air bag inflators can rupture
Chrysler is recalling certain Ram pickup trucks for defective curtain air bag inflators. The company is recalling 2016-2019 Ram 3500, Ram 1500, 2016-2020 Ram 2500, and 2016 Ram 3500 Cab Chassis vehicles. The right and left side curtain air bag inflators may rupture due to a manufacturing defect. An inflator rupture may result in sharp metal fragments striking occupants, resulting in injury.
The recall potentially affects 6,066 vehicles. Dealers will replace one or both side curtain air bags as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed February 13. Jeep Cherokees experiencing loss of drive power
Chrysler is also recalling certain 2017-2019 Jeep Cherokee vehicles. The power transfer unit in these models may become damaged and disengage the transmission and differential, resulting in a loss of drive power and/or loss of park function. A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash. A loss of park function can cause unintended vehicle rollaway, which also increases the risk of a crash or injury.
This recall potentially impacts 63,082 vehicles. The remedy is under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed February 13. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 01C.
Kenworth, Peterbilt throttle pedal assemblies may stick
Paccar is recalling certain 2023-2024 Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks for issues with the throttle pedal assembly. The company is recalling 2023-2024 Kenworth T280, T380, T480; 2024 Kenworth T180; and 2023-2024 Peterbilt 535, 536, 537, and 548 vehicles.
The throttle pedal assembly on these vehicles may contain an oversized magnet carrier, slowing the responsiveness or causing the pedal to stick. A pedal that sticks increases the risk of a crash.
This recall potentially affects 1,110 units. Dealers will inspect and replace the throttle pedal as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 17. Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra recalled for seat belt assemblies
General Motors is recalling certain 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV and 2024-2025 GMC Sierra EV pickup trucks. The bolt that secures the rear center seat belt assembly to the seat structure may not have been properly tightened. An improperly secured seat belt assembly may not restrain an occupant as intended, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.
This recall potentially affects only five units. GM will tighten the bolt that attaches the center seat belt assembly to the rear seat structure, free of charge. All affected vehicles are still in dealer inventory and, therefore, no owner letters will be mailed. Ford Bronco, Maverick units experiencing battery failure
Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2021-2023 Bronco Sport and 2022-2023 Maverick vehicles. The 12-volt battery may experience degradation and suddenly fail. Battery failure can result in a loss of electrical accessories, including the hazard lights, or cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
This recall potentially affects 272,817 vehicles. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the 12-volt battery, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed February 3. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S02. Vehicles in this recall were previously repaired under 24V-267 and will need to have the new remedy completed.
Ford Broncos’ rear shock absorber reservoirs may detach
Ford is also recalling certain 2021-2024 Bronco vehicles. The rear shock absorbers may corrode and fail, resulting in detachment of the external reservoir. These detached reservoirs can create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
This recall potentially affects 149,449 vehicles. The remedy is currently under development. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed February 3. Pinnacle trucks have insufficient air in tanks for brake system
Mack Trucks is recalling certain 2024-2025 Pinnacle trucks. The air tanks have an insufficient volume of air for the brake system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems." Insufficient air volume can reduce braking performance and increase the risk of a crash.
This recall potentially affects 21 units. Dealers will install the correct volume air tanks, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 17. Owners may contact Mack's customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0473.
