The 2025 FleetOwner 500: For-Hire list ranks the most prominent motor carrier and commercial fleet operations in the U.S. by total registered power units. Released in February, the FO500 saw many ranking shifts after a busy 2024 of carrier acquisitions, mergers, consolidations, and expansions.
In addition to ranking the largest for-hire fleet operations overall, FleetOwner breaks down these companies into categories based on equipment, cargo types, and industry segments. This media gallery focuses on bulk fleets.

Bulk fleets can be split into two categories: dry and liquid. According to Inbound Logistics, dry bulk cargo is goods shipped in raw, unprocessed forms, like grains, minerals, and ore. Liquid bulk cargo is goods shipped as liquids, such as oils or chemicals. Bulk trucking uses either a liquid tanker, a dry bulk trailer, or drums or totes in a dry van.
Compared to 2024, this year’s No. 1 and 2 spots flip-flopped, with Trimac Transportation Group taking the lead. The rest of the list featured minor shakeups, including the introduction of Reworld to both this top 10 and the FO500.
