AirIQ Inc., a Toronto-based wireless application service provider, today launched a product designed to protect high value goods in refrigerated and heated trailers.
“This completes our strategy of providing a single-source application for fleet managers within the commercial transport industry,” said Don Simmonds, AirIQ president and CEO. “We are very pleased to extend the compelling return on investment of AirIQ’s fleet-management solutions to fleets of refrigerated and heated trailers.”
AirIQ for Refrigerated Trailers offers a reefer fault alert. The unit reports a fault in a reefer’s operation the moment it is detected by the reefer’s self-diagnostic unit, allowing the fleet manager to take immediate action to protect the perishable goods.
“Avoiding the cost and operational difficulties resulting from spoiled goods is a tremendous value proposition for any commercial transport organization, not to mention the value of always knowing where their assets are located,” said Miguel Gonsalves, vp of AirIQ’s Commercial Transport Division. “This product will allow our clients to deliver quality goods to their customers consistently.”
The unit is designed and built for the physically challenging environment of reefers and heaters. The heavily ruggedized unit is built to withstand vibration, external temperature extremes, harsh weather, dust, moisture, shock and vibration.
