Jacksonville, FL-based Landstar System has promoted Ron Stanley to become its COO, with Jim Handoush taking over as the president of Landstar's global logistics subsidiary.
In his new position, Stanley will be responsible for all operating company functions, including those of the Landstar Carrier Group and Landstar Global Logistics. He's also responsible for expanding Landstar's national accounts sales effort to market Landstar's complete line of offerings, including logistics, over-the-road, ocean, air, rail, multimodal and expedited services.
Stanley joined Landstar in 1996 as president of Landstar Express America and has 23 years of experience in transportation marketing, specializing in global airfreight.
Handoush is now head of Landstar Global Logistics, a subsidiary created in August 2005 when Landstar Express America and Landstar Logistics were combined in an effort to improve the company’s position as a logistics and transportation solutions provider for worldwide markets.
Handoush is responsible for the development of global and domestic business, as well as for launching the company's new warehousing initiative. He joined Landstar in 1996 as vp-finance and administration at Landstar Logistics; he has served as president of that division since 2004.
