TransCore, an online freight exchange operator and technology provider, has acquired Keypoint, a Springfield, MO-based provider of operations and dispatch software for transportation carriers. TransCore said Keypoint’s software will be integrated into its TransCore Exchange online freight-exchange system so it can provide operations and dispatch software systems through a single, online environment.
This integrated “platform,” said John Worthington, TransCore’s CEO, is designed to help reduce supply-chain inefficiencies and simplify the movement of 100,000 shipments and 450,000 trucks that log onto TransCore’s online freight market daily.
“By integrating Keypoint’s operations tools with TransCore Exchange, we further simplify the freight-management process and make online business interaction more attractive to our current and potential customers,” he said. “Carriers and others should benefit by having all their daily business tools available through a single source.”
TransCore has a variety of subsidiaries, including Amtech, DAT Services, Link Logistics (TransCore’s Canadian freight-exchange network), and Viastar, a cash, fuel-management and regulatory-compliance services company.
