Weighing less than 900 lb. with tires and wheels, the industry's only 8,000-lb. capacity steerable lift axle was introduced at the International Trucking Show by Watson and Chalin Mfg.

The Tru-Track Super Lite weighs 374 lb. less than the lightest similar axle previously offered, Watson's 13,200-lb.-capacity unit. In a typical dump truck application with three lift-axles, the Tru-Track Super Lite saves over 1,100 lb. compared to the 13,200-lb. unit, according to Richard Rickman, Watson director of sales.

Among the features of the new axle are 17.5-in. wheels and tires and an international brake size from Arvin Meritor. Like other Watson steerables, it has a 5-yr. warranty.
