Robert Bosch Corp. has introduced a high-output alternator (AL929N) designed for refrigeration trucks capable of providing additional power to handle accessories such as automatic lift gates, according to the manufacturer.
“Bosch manufactures the alternators used on the original equipment,” Fred Padgett, senior product technical support manager, Starters and Alternators for Bosch, said. “So, if you have a refrigerated unit on a truck, the OE version normally comes in 37 or 65 amps. The new Bosch unit, which physically looks exactly like the earlier OE units-is a powerful 90 amp. and has a higher output at lower engine speeds. As we all know, more and more accessories are being added to reefers. The alternator has to power up all those accessories as well, which this brand new unit will do.”
The 90-amp refrigerated truck alternator is available now. For more information go to www.boschusa.com.
