Sirius Satellite Radio and DaimlerChrysler announced they are extending their exclusive relationship through Sept. 1, 2012. The agreement includes all Chrysler Group and Mercedes-Benz vehicles as well as Freightliner trucks.
Mel Karmazin, CEO of Sirius, said, “We are very pleased that DaimlerChrysler has extended our exclusive relationship. DaimlerChrysler has been a long-standing supporter of SIRIUS since we began broadcasting, and we share the same commitment to provide a quality experience. Together, we can continue to enhance the driving [experience of] customers with Sirius’ unique mix of programming, which is the best in all of radio.”
For model year 2006, over 750,000 subscribers are expected to be generated from the Chrysler Group alone, with volumes estimated to increase significantly in the future.
