Fleets using TMWSuite enterprise management software can automate detention tracking with a newly released update, according to developer TMW Systems Inc.
The no-charge detention tracking feature can automatically notify both dispatchers and shippers if a truck is detained beyond a pre-set time limit, create a bill for the detention, and create reports that track and compare by customer detention charges imposed.
The new feature lets fleets set individual waiting time parameters for each customer. Billing for detention beyond those limits can either be initiated manually by dispatch or automatically by the system. Reports generated by the new feature using the suite's report wizard provide both summary and detailed information on time spent at all customer locations, as well as costs and revenue associated with detention. www.tmwsystems.com
