Transportation Transitions: New leadership for BendPak, FCC, TBB

Sept. 13, 2024
BendPak, Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp, and Thomas Built Buses announce new leadership.

BendPak hires Jeffrey Carson to head business development for Ranger wheel service

To further enhance its position in the wheel service equipment market, BendPak has hired Jeffrey Carson as business development manager for its Ranger wheel service division. Among his responsibilities are overseeing the division's portfolio of tire changers, wheel balancers, and additional equipment such as alignment lathes and brake lathes.

Carson brings to his new role experience in territory and regional sales management with leading firms in the automotive service industry, including General Parts Co./NAPA, Hunter Engineering, and Accu Industries. Prior to joining BendPak, Carson served as the northeast regional sales manager for Hofmann U.S.A.

“One of my priorities at BendPak will be to implement a nationwide setup and training initiative that will allow BendPak to compete in the same space as other renowned brands offering white-glove, after-the-sale service,” Carson stated. “Up until now, BendPak’s Ranger wheel service products were shipped directly to customers via the dealer network, with customers responsible for setup, while training was provided through online videos or manuals. I intend to change that and elevate BendPak’s Ranger division standing.”

As BendPak already has over 500 nationwide service centers, Carson said this initiative should not be too difficult once the initial groundwork is completed. “With additional service providers that I plan to onboard through my decades of experience in this market, we will take this program to the next level,” he said.

Daimler Truck North America has appointed T.J. Reed president and CEO of Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp and Thomas Built Buses. In his new role, Reed will be responsible for all aspects of the TBB and FCCC brands at DTNA, including strategy, sales, and operations. Reed, currently president of Daimler Truck Remarketing and the SelecTrucks brand, has more than 25 years of experience in the truck manufacturing industry. He joined Daimler Truck in 1998 as a custom application engineer for vocational trucks and has since held various leadership roles in product marketing and strategy, as well as pricing and P&L responsibility within DTNA. “T.J.’s broad experience across the industry, as well as his exceptional customer focus, makes him the perfect fit for this role,” said Jeff Allen, SVP of operations and specialty vehicles at DTNA. “His expertise and personality will enable him to drive innovation and growth for both companies."

Reed will remain responsible for DTR and will continue to support the team until his successor is named.
