Transportation Transitions: New leadership for Transervice, Motive, TSR

Feb. 14, 2025
Transervice, Motive, and Together for Safer Roads add to their leadership teams.

Jerry Greiner joins Transervice as VP of business operations, procurement, and fleet management

Transervice Logistics has named Jerry Greiner its new VP of business operations, procurement, and fleet management. He will report directly to Gino Fontana, EVP and COO, working out of the Transervice Chicago office.

“Jerry is a seasoned industry veteran who brings a host of experience and knowledge to the role,” Fontana, who regularly writes for FleetOwner's IdeaXchange, said.

Greiner was formerly director of fleet logistics for Ferrellgas, a publicly traded Fortune 1000 company supplying propane for millions of customers nationwide. From 2009 to 2021, he was director of fleet management for US Foods, responsible for a fleet of 4,000-plus pieces of equipment at over 1,000 terminals across the U.S. An active industry leader, Greiner has also authored multiple grants for alternate fuels and is a member of Freightliner’s EV Council.

Motive appoints Adam Block as chief revenue officer

Motive recently appointed Adam Block as chief revenue officer. With over two decades of experience leading high-performing SaaS sales teams, Block has been instrumental in scaling Motive’s sales organization since joining two years ago as VP of enterprise.

Under Block’s leadership, the enterprise team delivered a banner fiscal year 2024, adding major customers across industries, including FedEx Freight, KONE, Davey Tree, Mavis Tires & Brakes, Peak Utilities, CoolSys, and Inframark. As CRO, Block will oversee global revenue and go-to-market functions, including sales, business development, strategy, operations, sales engineering, and partnerships.

“I am honored to step into the CRO position because of the important role Motive plays for its customers,” Block said. “It is rare to have the opportunity to lead a team that is selling a product with such an inspiring mission and customer value proposition. Motive is making roads safer for drivers and communities, and at the same time making physical economy organizations more productive and more profitable.”

Since joining two years ago, Block has helped nearly triple the size of Motive’s enterprise business, build and scale the company’s enterprise sales team, and increase Motive’s market contact by over 500%.

Volo-X joins Together for Safer Roads

Together for Safer Roads recently added Volo-X as its newest member and welcomed Paul Boardman, Volo-X founder and chairman, to its board of directors.

“We are thrilled to welcome Volo-X to our coalition of fleet industry leaders and innovators and to also welcome their founder and chairman, Paul Boardman, to Together for Safer Roads’ Board of Directors,”  Peter Goldwasser, TSR’s executive director, said. “Under Paul’s leadership, Volo-X is delivering solutions to resolve key logistical challenges in urban centers that are focused on safety, environmental sustainability, and affordability.”

The intersection of last-mile delivery efficiency and road safety is an area of concern that TSR continues to address. Building off its Truck of the Future Initiative, TSR will be working with its members on exploring how to best expand the definition of a 21st-century “delivery truck,” looking at the impact of utilizing the Volo-Coaster’s Electric Transport in the context of supporting new types of safe, flexible, and scalable last-mile delivery modalities in urban environments.

“There is no question that a safer, more efficient city is dependent on both improving existing systems and innovating new ones designed for the challenges of an urban environment and last-mile delivery,” Goldwasser said. “This is where Volo-X’s ‘Quad of the Future’ comes in.”

The Quad of the Future Initiative will be announced in more detail later in 2025.
