DAT names Jana Galbraith as chief people officer

DAT Freight & Analytics recently appointed Jana Galbraith as chief people officer. Galbraith will lead DAT’s people strategy, talent development, and organizational culture initiatives, ensuring the company attracts, retains, and empowers top talent to further drive innovation and growth.

“Jana is a dynamic and strategic leader with a proven track record of building strong, high-performing teams and fostering cultures that enable people to thrive,” Jeff Clementz, DAT’s CEO and president, said. “Her experience guiding organizations through growth and transformation will be invaluable as we scale our business and strengthen our position as the most trusted freight marketplace and analytics provider. We’re thrilled to have her join the team and help shape the future of DAT.”

Galbraith is a people and operations leader with more than 20 years of experience developing HR functions for growing organizations. She has held leadership roles in technology, entertainment, and digital media companies, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on execution.

“DAT is at an exciting inflection point, and I’m delighted to join a company that recognizes its people as the driving force behind innovation and customer success,” Galbraith said. “I look forward to building on the company’s strong foundation and creating an environment where employees feel empowered to do their best work, contribute meaningfully, and grow alongside the business.”

Kooner Fleet Management Solutions names new chief operating officer

Kooner Fleet Management Solutions recently named Michael Quimby as the company’s chief operating officer.

“Joining Kooner FMS is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and evolution of the company,” Quimby said. “Kooner has swiftly solidified itself as a leader in fleet repair and maintenance across North America. I am thrilled to be joining the company at such an exciting time and look forward to leveraging my previous experiences to help propel the organization forward.”

Quimby brings more than 25 years of leadership experience with a track record overseeing growth strategy at industry leading brands, including Ryder, Element Fleet Management, and GE Capital. Most recently, he served as president and COO at TFS, a fleet management company specializing in forklifts and allied equipment.

"Michael’s industry expertise and background shaping the strategic vision of numerous fleet management and transportation logistics companies will be a substantial addition to our growing team," Gary Kooner, founder and CEO of Kooner Fleet Management Solutions, said. "As COO, Michael will play an instrumental role in propelling Kooner’s growth strategy as we continue to expand nationwide."

BeyondTrucks forms Product Advisory Council

BeyondTrucks recently announced the formation of its Product Advisory Council. At its inaugural meeting, the key group of fleet and company leaders discussed the state of the industry, opportunities for maintaining a competitive advantage, and future technology possibilities.

The BeyondTrucks Product Advisory Council of fleet executives and industry leaders includes:

  • Devon Ades, VP of Apex Logistics and chairman of the board, California Trucking Association
  • Marc Boyle, former co-president of Boyle Transportation
  • Jimmy Coleman, owner/head of special projects, D.G. Coleman
  • Patrick Cozzens, president, Modern Transportation
  • Robbert McCaig, director/owner, Trimac Transportation
  • Arnold Ramonas, director of operations, AGM Transport Inc.

“The new BeyondTrucks Product Advisory Council brings together leading fleets whose insights into the risks and opportunities our industry is facing will be key to guide product development,” said Hans Galland, CEO of BeyondTrucks. “The industry has largely been operating on systems designed in the 1980s and 1990s, which is jarringly disconnected from the possibilities that AI-powered trucks, telematics, safety cameras, analytics, and optimization tools offer fleets today. Though the process of adopting or changing a TMS may seem daunting, these organizational leaders understand they must support ripping off the band-aid by moving to better technology.”

During the first meeting of the council, industry leaders were asked to take a visionary approach to identify key elements that would be critical for customer success and competitive superiority. A session focusing on industry risks and opportunities that will affect fleets in the near future was a highlight of the meeting. The group also discussed technological possibilities and priorities for using software and data as part of transportation management platforms that serve as human-machine interfaces.
